Learn the art of Romance in your sales
It's finally launched! Romancing the Sale: How to Build and Maintain Highly Profitable Customer Relationships That Last officially launched on Dec. 5, 2008. This has been another exciting part of my home business journey.
When I first began learning about using attraction marketing on the internet, I found myself in a close knit community of people who were all learning to promote their mlms or home businesses attractively. None of us knew much about the resources available to us and most of us were novices when it came to using the computer.
Through social networking, we began to build relationships with one another. We shared our goals and our frustrations. We sent "shouts" to each other on Digg when we had written a new article or produced a new video. Frequently, we asked for and received suggestions from our fellow marketers on how to improve. When someone needed help, it was usually a "technical" question like "how to I upload a photo to my blog" or "how do I optimize my use of keywords and anchor text?"
As attraction marketing began to work its magic, there was a subtle shift. Instead of all the questions being about ways to drive traffic to our sites, people were starting to wonder what to do with them once they came! Everyone had worked very hard to avoid being overly promotional in their content. We had learned to provide good, solid information to help our readers for free. We knew not to begin every online conversation with a sales pitch.
Attraction marketing is designed to reach those people who are interested in your particular area. If you provide top notch information for dog lovers, for example, then you will come to be seen as an expert on dogs. If someone is looking for a dog trainer, they are far more likely to sign up for your doggie training camp because they have been reading about your advice on dogs and you've shown you know what you are talking about. Attraction marketing brings the customer to you.
But, of course, that's only the beginning of the sales process. It's terrific to have the customers come to you; but it's also easy to make them wish they hadn't!
The idea of working so hard to attract prospects, and then blowing it with the first phone call was terrifying for more than a few. It became apparent that some real help was needed in making the transition from building customer relationships to maintaining them.
That's how I came to write Romancing the Sale. While my career as a small business owner has been fairly short, working closely with people and building relationships has been a lifelong passion.
Romancing the Sale is all about building and maintaining relationships with your potential customers in a way that is a fulfilling experience for both of you. It's about customers who may not buy your product today or join your team tomorrow but are still with you next year. Next year when their needs change, they may wind up financing your next vacation with their purchases. All you had to do was maintain the relationship with them until the time was right for them to buy.
Romancing the Sale tells you how to do that.
I'll be writing a series of articles on how to write and publish an ebook - I'll let you know when they are up at how-to-market-guide.com. As always, thanks for visiting the blog and for all the support and well wishes I've received! Let the Romance begin!
